Job Title: Temporary Research Scientist (II) – Computational Biology

This is a Temporary position limited to no more than 9-months
Job Summary:
The Lampe Lab is looking for a full-time (100% time), hourly Temporary Research Assistant (TRA) with a computational background (computer science, computer animation, 3D art, etc.) to design and construct a Linux-based Beowulf computational cluster for implementing high-throughput molecular docking and molecular dynamics software (AutoDock Vina, GROMACS, etc.). The ideal applicant should have experience with hardware design and construction, as well as Linux system administration and parallel computing. Experience in either blade server or Beowulf construction preferred. This position will work up to 40 hours per week. Working hours are flexible. This position is currently funded for three months, with the possibility of an extension depending on future funding availability.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The hiring range for this position has been established at: $24.00 to $26.00 / hour. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

- Bachelor's degree in computational science, 3D computer animation, etc.
- Experience with Unreal Engine 4/5, Maya, Blender
