Job Description Summary
The University of Pennsylvania's Center for Weight and Eating Disorders seeks a part-time Clinical Research Coordinator to participate on studies of the treatment of obesity. The Coordinator will work on two or more industry-sponsored trials that are assessing behavioral and pharmacological interventions for obesity. The candidate will: participate in the screening and recruitment of participants; assess weight and vital signs; administer self-report measures; coordinate study visits; and assist with data entry and management. Experience with phlebotomy is also desirable. The candidate also will assist with the preparation of safety reports and regulatory correspondence (institutional review board, IRB).

The Coordinator will work on two or more industry-sponsored trials that are assessing behavioral and pharmacological interventions for obesity. The candidate will: participate in the screening and recruitment of participants; assess weight and vital signs; administer self-report measures; coordinate study visits; and assist with data entry and management. Experience with phlebotomy is also desirable. The candidate also will assist with the preparation of safety reports and regulatory correspondence (institutional review board, IRB).
This position is ideal for individuals who wish to pursue a career as a research coordinator or to obtain clinical lab experience before undertaking graduate study in nursing, psychology, medicine, or another health field. The position is initially for 25 hours per week with the possibility of conversion to full-time; it will begin the week of August 30th. Applicants should have a BA or BS in psychology, nursing, neuroscience, or a related field, with at least 1 year of experience conducting human subjects research, clinical trial/clinical research experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong interpersonal skills, comfort interacting with patients, and exceptional attention to detail (for data management) are required. Strong computer skills also are desired. The position is contingent on continued funding.
Bachelor's Degree with 1-2 years of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
